The Harry Potter Convos We Need to Have
As someone who has read the books multiple times, and someone who has seen the movies countless times, I could not have stated the reasoning why so many people have fallen in love with the magical world of Harry Potter. I too, may never be able to forgive Jo for killing off Fred, but I will I always be grateful to her for creating such an awesome world we can all be a part of.

Shiny Happy Book Club: “MWF Seeking BFF”
I am seriously starting to believe that HelloGiggles was sent to me by a higher power. A few days ago I came across an article on making new girlfriends, which I found very interesting, and today I come across this article. I have always had a 'difficult' time making friends. As a child I was always very shy and insecure, I always hung back, to insecure to start conversations. As I grew into a teenage, the same pattern continued...though I'm sure that the fact I was fat didn't help. Being overweight made me second guess myself, made me talk myself out of speaking up and introducing myself to people. I would see other overweight teens/young adult and I would wonder, 'how the heck are they doing it?'.
Anyway, somehow I made it out of that awkward stage of my life. I'm not saying I'm completely outgoing, but I'm better. Now I'm at a stage in my life where I don't really have a set of go to girl friends. I have one. Cristina and I reconnected a couple years ago, she's great, but apart from her, I'm usually flying solo. It's actually kind of pathetic, MLK day I took myself to the movies, alone, at noon to watch New Years Eve...I was surrounded by annoying, loud teenagers. SMH.
Anyway, like I was saying at the start, I think a higher power might be suggesting that I get out there, leave fear and insecurity behind, and make new potential friends....have I mentioned my make up consultant at Clinique seems pretty cool?

Stop The Boy That Makes You Cry (Stories From My College Days)
Good grief! Lord knows I have been there. On BOTH sides of this story. What is it with girls in their early twenties and boys that make us cry? We are attracted to the full of themselves, high than thou, egotistical assholes, who are only out for one thing. And yet we kept going back for more and more, somehow making it OKAY in our heads that yes, they really do like us. Excuse me, I keep referring to 'us', 'we', and 'girls', when I should just be using, "I", and "me'. But considering the number of other early twenty-something girls I encountered in my time, I sure it's okay that for me to use the plurals.
Thinking back on my past encounters of the 'what the hell was I thinking?!" kind, part of me is kinda okay with it because thanks to those D-bags, I can appreciate and truly be grateful for the great man I am married too.
So if there is anyone out there reading this...or any of my other blog posts, know that it is okay to cry, it is okay to let those bastards go. You are better without them. Your time will come.

Moving Away From My Mother Has Turned Me Into My Mother
Once again, HelloGiggles lights up day. I came this article tonight and was amazed! I totally can relate. I as approach 32, I find myself more and more becoming like my mother...liking a clean house. Ten years ago I wouldn't care less about putting my clothes away, or doing laundry, or having clean bathroom. Now, I can't stand when my husband doesn't put his clothes away, I have to do laundry, because I GET it done all in one day. I must have a clean bathroom, and a clean kitchen. My husband and I have a deal, when I cook, he cleans, when he cooks, I clean. Sounds great, right? Nope. When I cook, I clean as I go. When he cooks, it's a hot mess everywhere! The food is always delicious, but the mess is horrid. On top of that, when I cook I have taken it upon myself to clean as I ago, because it takes my loving husband forever to clean up. The dirty dishes just there in the sink...I can't stand it.
Thankfully, my husband does surprise me with a cleaning service...from time to time. And that makes up for all the other stuff that gets left behind...

shm.wth.
I'm trying to update my blog layout and clearly I am not having an easy time figuring this out! WTH? To top that off, I somehow managed to completely change my blogging format. I use to have the basic format, now it's a completely different one. And on top of that, Jacoby Jones of the Texans is an idiot.

Which Babysitters Club Member Are You?
Many thanks HelloGiggles for bringing this jewel out of hiding. I grew up on the BSC. I remember being in Mrs. Green's fifth grade class, walking up to her bookshelf and picking up BSC #9, The Ghost at Dawn's House. I couldn't put it down! Loved it. The BSC saw me through my entire fifth grade, middle school, and yes, part of my high school career. Sadly, they somehow ended up in a box at my parent's house. However, I did manage to locate a few and I have those stationed in my classroom library for my students to read.
The article below talks about which baby-sitter you most relate too. I always considered myself a Mary Anne, with a bit of a Stacy hiding inside. I'm about to turn 32, and I still consider this to be true.
Perhaps I 'll swing by my mom' house and go digging through those old boxes to see if I can find the rest of my BSC collection...

On Making New Girlfriends
Another good one from HelloGiggles. I had a hard time making friends as a child and teenage. I was much to shy and insecure for my own good. As an adult, I also find myself hesitant to step outside my comfort zone and engage in conversation with what could be a future girl, I'm trying to get better at this. I'm a cool person. I really am, therefore, I found this article very insightful. Here's hoping it helps me in my endeavors to meet new people and make new girlfriends.
As a side note, my Clinique consultant is really cool. Everytime I've gone to purchase something new, we've engaged in a rather nice back and forth. Hmm, potential friend? Only time will tell.

Instant Movie: Scream (1996)
I agree. This is one of the ONLY slasher films I can sit through. Thanks HelloGiggles for making me feel not such a dweeb. Everyone gives me smack for NOT enjoying slasher flicks. I always say, Scooby-Doo is as scary as I go. However, I can also do Scream.

HelloGiggles
I recently discovered HelloGiggles.com and am in love with it. It is a site geared for women. Last night, as I was sitting in my pj's on the sofa, watching rerun after rerun of The Big Bang Theory, I came across this on HelloGiggles.
Enjoy!
